VANCOUVER -- Vancouver's Vasek Pospisil will open Canada's Davis Cup World Group tie against France's Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Friday.
The draw for the event Thursday also pitted Milos Raonic of Thornhill, Ont., against Julien Benneteau in Friday's other singles match at the Doug Mitchell Thunderbird Sports Centre.
Toronto's Daniel Nestor will team up with Pospisil in Saturday's doubles match against Benneteau and Michael Llodra, while Sunday's singles matches will see Raonic take on Tsonga and Pospisil meet Benneteau.
Davis Cup on Sportsnet: All matches can be seen live on Sportsnet from Friday-Sunday with coverage beginning at 5 p.m. ET / 2 p.m. PT. Also, watch the Davis Cup Aftershow following every broadcast, available only on sportsnet.ca.
Raonic is ranked 28th in the world, while Pospisil is 120th. Nestor is the world's third-ranked doubles player. Frank Dancevic of Niagara Falls, Ont., and Thornhill's Peter Polansky are also on the team, if needed.
Tsonga is ranked sixth in the world, followed by Benneteau at No. 36. Llodra is ranked fifth in doubles.
Canada qualified for the World Group with road victories over Mexico, Ecuador and Israel last year to advance to this stage of the competition for the first time in eight years.
A win over France in the best-of-five tie would give Canada its first berth in the World Group quarter-finals.
