ESTORIL, Portugal — Fifth-seeded Richard Gasquet of France beat Nicolas Almagro 6-1, 7-6 (4) to advance to the Estoril Open semifinals on Friday.
Gasquet, who had lost his last three meetings with Almagro, saved four of five break points while breaking Almagro three times to win in one hour, 24 minutes.
Gasquet will next face another Spaniard after Guillermo Garcia-Lopez fought back after trailing 1-5 in the second set to oust Borna Coric 6-3, 7-6 (4).
Seventh-seeded Nick Kyrgios of Australia hit seven aces en route to beating Dutchman Robin Haase 6-3, 6-4 to also join the final four.
The 20-year-old Kyrgios will play Pablo Carreno Busta, after the Spaniard eliminated eighth-seeded Gilles Muller 6-2, 6-4.
