Radwanska beats Mestach at Katowice Open

KATOWICE, Poland — Top-seeded Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland beat Belgian An-Sophie Mestach 6-3, 6-1 at the Katowice Open on Thursday.

Radwanska will face Klara Koukalova of the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals on Friday.

Earlier, Elizaveta Kulichkova of Russia defeated fifth-seeded Kaia Kanepi 6-1, 6-2, and is now set to face Camila Giorgi.

Eighth-seeded Anna Schmiedlova of Slovakia need three sets to see off Katerina Siniakova of the Czech Republic, 6-1, 3-6, 6-3, and plays her next match against Alize Cornet.

Belgium’s Kirsten Flipkens, the seventh-seed, also took three sets to rout Monica Niculescu of Romania, 6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-4.
