Raonic rises to career-high No. 9 in world

Despite losing to Stanislas Wawrinka in the Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinals, Canadian Milos Raonic rises to a world ranking of No. 9 overall — the highest of his career.

The 23-year-old surpasses Frenchman Richard Gasquet, who previously held the ninth spot.

Raonic had previously peaked at No. 10 in August of last year.
