Despite losing to Stanislas Wawrinka in the Monte Carlo Masters quarterfinals, Canadian Milos Raonic rises to a world ranking of No. 9 overall — the highest of his career.
The 23-year-old surpasses Frenchman Richard Gasquet, who previously held the ninth spot.
Raonic had previously peaked at No. 10 in August of last year.
