Eugenie Bouchard has hired Sam Sumyk as her new tennis coach, Sportsnet’s Arash Madani has confirmed.

The story was first reported by The Toronto Star.

The 20-year-old will announce the hiring of Sumyk later this month.

Sumyk recently worked with former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka. The 47-year-old Frenchman began working with her in 2010. Since then, Azarenka has won two Grand Slam titles (2012 and 2013 Australian Open).

Bouchard decided to opt for the BNP Paribas Fortis Diamond Games instead of playing for Canada in this week’s Fed Cup tie against the Czech Republic at Laval University.

She’s currently ranked No. 7 in the world.
