Tomorrow’s Stars Shine for Fans as the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup begins, Friday on Sportsnet

TORONTO (May 14, 2014) Hockey fans have a reason to celebrate this long weekend as Sportsnet, home of the Canadian Hockey League, is set to showcase the future stars of the game with exclusive, non-stop coverage of the entire 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup from London, ON, May 16 to 25.

 

Sportsnet’s coverage 96th edition of the prestigious national championship kicks off Friday, May 16 at 1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT with the 2014 MasterCard Memorial Cup Preview Show, followed by the opening game between the QMJHL champion Val-d’Or Foreurs and host team London Knights at 7 p.m. ET/ 4 p.m. PT on Sportsnet East, Ontario, West and Pacific. The OHL champion Guelph Storm and WHL champion Edmonton Oil Kings round out the competition and meet in round-robin action on Saturday, May 17 at 4 p.m. ET/1 p.m. PT (full broadcast schedule below).

 

For the entirety of the championship, HOCKEY CENTRAL host Jeff Marek and analysts John Shannon and Damien Cox will be live on location at Budweiser Gardens in London to provide pre-game, intermission and post-game analysis. Nick Kypreos joins the team on Sunday, May 18.
