U Sports Roundup: Kaleb Scott throws two TD’s, Huskies top X-Men

HALIFAX — Kaleb Scott threw a pair of touchdowns as the Saint Mary’s Huskies opened the U Sports football season with a 38-23 victory over the StFX X-Men on Friday night.

Scott was 26-for-47 passing for 367 yards and an interception while also running the ball eight times for 86 yards.

Archelaus Jack caught five passes for 135 yards and a touchdown and Josh Henry had the other TD for the Huskies (1-0).

Saint Mary’s Brian Hope converted on 4 of 6 field goals and Antoine Lyte-Myers had a pair of interceptions that including taking one back for a touchdown.

Jordan Socholotiuk led the X-Men (0-1) offence with 30 carries for 171 yards and a TD.

StFX has won the Atlantic University Sport conference the last two seasons.
