Price For Soto Just Too Much For The Jays
May 19 2022
We are joined by Jeff Blair to discuss the Juan Soto rumours and why he is not totally buying it. Also, if he was available for real, bigger suitors like the Red Sox and Cubs would come sniffing. Now as far as the Blue Jays are concerned, The Nats could care less about prospects. Meaning - the starting point for any deal won't include Vladdy but someone like Alek Manoah would have to be in there. Then some debate about trade rumours, how they have evolved and the impact of analytics. Later the amazing audio from Jimbo Fisher who is in a war of words with Nick Saban. Finally we hear from Joey Votto on his trip to Toronto this weekend and his feelings about coming home. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

Blip or Breakdown - All Eyes On Oilers Goalies
May 19 2022
Arash is in for Stephen today and they dive into the Jays and how Vladdy Jr is being pitched to so differently that he has nothing to swing at and it starting to force it. The pressure is not on Teoscar Hernandez who has yet to find a groove since his return from injury and historically it takes him a while to find his bat after being hurt. If Teo starts to swing, it opens everything up for the rest of the order. Later, Tiger Woods is quickly out of contention at The PGA and they debate how the endorsement game is just as hard to walk away from. Then we have a war of words between Nick Saban and Jimbo Fischer. Then over to the Oilers/Flames and how Game 1 already exploited the Oilers weakness in net. Is Smith falters next game the Oilers will have to ask a 2nd string goalie to start a must-win Game 3. Mike Smith has already been named the starter for Game 2. Then an old fashioned debate with Ben and Arash about how the Leafs and their management has been let off the hook after their most recent first round loss. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

Paul Coffey Previews the Battle of Alberta
May 18 2022
We welcome our regular Wednesday guest as Adnan Virk joins the show to talk about the Leafs and how the fanbase has taken this loss so well and are nearly satisfied with the effort over the result. He's amused by the total lack of outrage. Later, the talk about Juan Soto in a potential trade and the danger in a 10 year contract. The Yankees might have to award that type of deal to Aaron Judge. He expects the weak Red Sox to get better and then a bizarre chat about linking stats in baseball to facial hair! Later, we head to Calgary where Peter Loubardias will be calling Game 1 tonight with the Oilers in town. While the pressure is on the Oilers, he argues how Calgary might feel it even more. Then a chat about Darryl Sutter and how he is much different than people perceive. It's not fun playing for him but he carries so much credibility. We close with Hall of Famer Paul Coffey on memories of the Battle of Alberta, why Calgary and Edmonton differ so much and his take on the Leafs and why winning a 1st Round Series should not be the ultimate prize even though it feels that way. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.

Jays Connected In Potential Juan Soto Trade
May 18 2022
Ben and Stephen begin without the Leafs as their lead story for the first time in a while. While we look ahead to the Battle of Alberta, it was a baseball report that caught their eye. Juan Soto could be on the market as he get priced out of Washington and with Scott Boras friendly with the Jays, would there be a package out there that you could create? We pick up the chat with Keegan Matheson from MLB.com in terms of the Jays prospects, who can help he team and who'd be perfect for a trade. Finally an update on Nate Pearson, why the mono is taking so long and forecasting his availability in the next few weeks. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliate.
