June 21: The end of an era
June 21 2019
The Friday roundtable assembles for the final time with Bob McCown as the host. Bob, Richard Deitsch, Michael Grange, and Joey Vendetta discuss Kawhi Leonard's future and if he will choose to re-sign in Toronto (46:18), if Marcus Stroman should stay or go (1:15:07), Major League Baseball's future in Montreal (1:34:13), and the various rumours around the National Hockey League with the 2019 Draft happening tonight (1:59:50)! To end off the show, Bob has some final thoughts (2:11:58).
June 20: Will baseball be returning to Montreal?
June 20 2019
Bob McCown and Richard Deitsch are with you for all three hours today! Jon Paul Morosi is first up and discusses the Tampa Bay Rays potentially being shared with the city of Montreal; is this a viable solution (6:22)? Later in the hour, ESPN's Kevin Seifert explains why technology has put officials into a tough spot to make the right calls throughout various sports (32:46). Just how busy is the NHL Draft and free agency for an NHL agent? Bob and Richard ask one of the best in the business: Don Meehan of Newport Sports. Meehan also talks about the new long-term deals inked by clients Jeff Skinner and Erik Karlsson who avoided unrestricted free agency (46:18); then, NBC Sports' Tom Haberstroh looks ahead to tonight's NBA draft: are NBA teams getting worse at assessing the early talent in the draft? The Toronto Raptors just won the championship without a single lottery pick after all (1:13:42). In the final hour, national NBA reporter Tim Bontemps shares his thoughts on free agency and a few breaking trades before tonight's draft (1:34:36); and Chris Johnston of the NHL on Sportsnet is in Vancouver for tomorrow's NHL draft - can we expect many trades on the draft floor (2:01:28)?
Morosi on two-city team: If they do things right, this could work better than expected
June 20 2019
MLB Network's Jon Morosi joins Bob McCown and Richard Deitsch to discuss the Tampa Bay Rays being given permission from MLB to explore the possibility of becoming a two-city team, splitting games between Tampa and Montreal.
June 19: Raptors still on top of the world
June 19 2019
Michael Grange joins Bob McCown as co-host and the guys by Sports Illustrated's Andrew Sharp who discussed Canadian RJ Barrett before tomorrow night's NBA draft where he is expected to go # 3 overall to the New York Knicks [9:17]. After Sharp, Mayor John Tory joins the show to comment on Monday's victory parade for the Raptors and how the city can be better prepared for events of that magnitude [27:55]. Speaking of the Raptors, Head Coach Nick Nurse has a lengthy chat with Bob and Richard Deitsch about winning the title, Kawhi Leonard's upcoming free agency, and even reveals who has called to congratulate him on the Finals win [44:09]. Later in the hour, Ben Nicholson-Smith checks-in from Rogers Centre ahead of tonight's Blue Jays-Angels game to break down Marcus Stroman's comments about not getting a long-term deal from the Blue Jays [1:20:20]. Is extended protective netting going to become the norm in Major League Baseball? Jeff Passan of ESPN answers that and more [1:31:40], and Elliotte Friedman is in Vegas for the NHL Awards, but with the NHL Draft going this weekend...could the Maple Leafs be busy despite not having a first round pick [1:57:05]?
