2018 NHL Draft begins with third pick, when nothing can be predicted
June 21 2018

Sam Cosentino calls in to talk with Dan and Randip about the 2018 mock NHL draft he released earlier in the day and why he has Jesperi Kotkaniemi going third overall to the Canadiens. At no. 7, he has Evan Bouchard going to the Canucks. Quinn Hughes is on the board at that time, but Cosentino has the Canucks passing on him. Of course, all that goes down after the first overall selection, so let's not forget this is indeed the dawning of the year of Rasmus Dahlin.

Shane O'Brien: Being a late draft pick is still an opportunity for NHL camp
June 21 2018
the former Canucks d-man joins Dan Riccio and Randip Janda to remember that time his own name was called by a pro hockey club. He had an unusual draft day after taking what he now considers bad advice from his agents. A year later, in 2003, he shut off the television after the later rounds before getting a phone call from the Anaheim Ducks who'd picked him 250th overall. "When you're picked late, you have a little chip on your shoulder but it's an opportunity. As a kid growing up in Canada... you just want an opportunity to go to an NHL camp."

It's not that he doesn't like Columbus exactly, but Panarin wants change
June 20 2018
The Athletic's Alison Lukan joins Dan and Randip to talk about Artemi Panarin and what future he as in Columbus. The Blue Jackets thought they knew what their off-seaon would be about. Instead, "It's about possibly swapping out a player... who had proved he naysayers wrong." She describes him as a tremendous player who was well-liked by fans. "He really had gained the affection of this fanbase," and was seen as an "underpinning" of the team's future. The vitriol isn't coming at him because it's not clear why he wants this change. "We thought this was going to be a quiet summer!"
