Shane O'Brien on energizing Andersen and evolution of 'electric' Marchand
April 25 2018
The pro hockey player describes the pressure and exhilaration of playing in a do-or-die game and tells Perry and Randip about the Maple Leafs, "I thought they'd be done in six and here they are playing for Game 7." Freddie Andersen is the reason the series was extended and it breeds confidence to know "he's back there kicking." He thinks the home team pulls off the win and talks about the evolution of Brad Marchand. "For how much we hate what he does on the ice, we all respect how far he's come as a player and how electric on the ice he is now."
Canucks fans with many reasons to follow Utica Comets post-season
April 25 2018
Andy Zilch, the play-by-play broadcaster with the Utica Comets, calls across the continent to talk with Perry and Randip about the passionate fanbase that fills the 4,000-strong arena and will tonight as the Toronto Marlies come to town. "It's as close as the NHL atmosphere you can get, and I'm pumped about it." To prevail, the Comets have to stay out of the penalty box. They discuss the players that could skate for the Canucks, including Thatcher Demko, Jonathan Dahlen and Lukas Jasek.
Danny O'Neil on what the Seahawks do with their no. 18 draft pick
April 25 2018
The sportscaster with 710 ESPN Seattle joins Perry and Randip to preview the NFL draft and which quarterback should go no. 1 because he presents the least amount of risk with the least amount of downside. A huge question remains at no. 2 and he does not think any running back, including Saquon Barkley, should go that high. At no. 18 where the Seahawks fall, he believes they want to move back as far as the second round to accumulate more picks. He expects Earl Thomas to return and says the fact one of the top 30 QBs in the world, Colin Kaepernick, can't find work tells you it's about the politics.
April 24: Wierd questions players get asked before the NFL Draft
April 24 2018
Perry and Randip welcome CBS College Football Analyst Houston Nutt to the show and discuss some of the nuances when interviewing NFL hopefuls (00:26). Also on the show Sean Burke talks Hockey Canada (1:44) and Sean Reynolds talks Jets Preds (2:00)
