Stephen Brunt on what big Machado deal means for MLB
February 20 2019
Sportsnet's Stephen Brunt joins Sat and Jawn to talk about the state of free agency in Major League Baseball. Manny Machado just signed a $300 million deal with the Padres. Brunt says there weren't a lot of teams bidding for Machado, and there aren't many teams in on Bryce Harper either. The owners like the new economics, but it can be frustrating for fans. Spending big on free agents might not be the best path to winning, either. On the Blue Jays, Brunt says he expects star prospect Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to hit the ground running in the big leagues.

Cosentino: Kakko could catch Hughes as top 2019 prospect
February 19 2019
Sportsnet's prospect guru Sam Cosentino joined Sat and Jawn to preview the 2019 NHL draft. Cosentino says Kaapo Kakko is having a tremendous second half of his season, and Kakko could start to challenge Jack Hughes for the first overall pick. He also says that Kakko might be more able to step right into an NHL lineup than Hughes. Cosentino also thinks that Peyton Krebs could end up getting picked in the top 5.
