Ren Lavoie on what comes now for the Senators and Erik Karlsson
June 19 2018
The TVA Sports hockey analyst dials up Sat and Jawn from Las Vegas to talk about Mike Hoffman's moves, one and two, and the fact that, "The Senators are not done here." The implications for Erik Karlsson aren't clear, but everything is on the table. This team was a goal away from the Stanley Cup final and is now a "train wreck," but we understand why now.
Mariners' success only likely to continue once Cano returns
June 18 2018
Jessica Kleinschmidt with joins Sat and Jawn to break down expectations before the trade deadline and the Mariners' success in spite of Robinson Cano's absence thanks to chemistry and less-known players rising above their billing. Mitch Haniger is a significant factor, and she has choice words for the outfielder. She talks Blue Jays, J.A. Happ and why teams always need another pitcher. Bryce Harper, on the other hand, is sliding and speculation he'll become a Yankee is only a distraction.
June 18: Trotz out in Washington
June 18 2018
Sat and Alex react to the news of Barry Trotz resigning from the Washington Capitals. Nick Boynton joins the show to discuss his concussion history (28:03)
Scott Wheeler predicts a new projected third-overall NHL draft pick
June 18 2018
The draft expert with The Athletic joins Sat and Jawn to discuss the NHL Draft and defencemen. He believes the second d-man to come off the board will be Evan Bouchard or Noah Dobson though he likes Quinn Hughes more than both. Still, he predicts a team opts for one of the others sooner. He predicts Jesperi Kotkaniemi goes third since, after speaking with Filip Zadina at the combine, he's been ruled out for the top three. The Finn, he says, is perhaps the best centreman in the draft. "It's good odds Montreal takes the leap."
