Machado perhaps further boosted his trade value on Tuesday night, smashing two home runs to help the Orioles to a 6-5 win over the Yankees.
The Yankees boast one of the strongest farm systems in baseball and thus have the ability to outbid other teams for Machado. It’s not known what players were included in the reported proposal, but according to Roch Kubatko of MASNsports.com, top pitching prospect Justus Sheffield was not included.

Machado, who switched to shortstop from third base ahead of this season, has said he wants to remain at short. The Yankees appear set with Didi Gregorius at the position, but could try to install Machado at third if he’s acquired. Rookie Miguel Andujar has been a revelation at the hot corner for the Yankees, however his defence and plate discipline remain works in progress.
