The American Hockey League’s Board of Governors has approved moving the anticipated start date of the 2020-21 season to Feb. 5, 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The league says further details about the upcoming campaign have yet to be determined.
The AHL had previously planned to return to the ice on Dec. 4, 2020.
The AHL was forced to cancel its 2019-20 season as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and did not name a Calder Cup champion for the first time since 1937.
