Alex Lyon will get a fresh start with the Buffalo Sabres.
The free-agent goaltender has signed an two-year, $3-million deal with the Sabres, the team announced Tuesday.
Lyon, 32, played the last two seasons with the Detroit Red Wings on a deal paying him a total of $1.8 million. He had a 2.81 goals-against average and .896 save percentage in 30 games last season.

The last two years were his only pro seasons in which he did not spend any time in the AHL. He won a Calder Cup with the Chicago Wolves in 2022..
The Yale University product went undrafted before signing an entry-level deal with the Flyers in April 2016.
