Bruins sign Khusnutdinov to two-year extension, Callahan to one-year deal

The Boston Bruins were busy Sunday afternoon, inking a pair of youngsters to new deals.

The team announced it has signed forward Marat Khusnutdinov to a two-year contract extension through the 2026-27 season, and signed defenseman Michael Callahan to a one-year, two-way contract through the 2025-26 season.

Khusnutdinov’s deal will hold an annual cap hit of $925,000 while Callahan’s will come in at $775,000.

Khusnutdinov, 22, made 75 NHL appearances last year between the Bruins and the Minnesota Wild. He recorded five goals and seven assists in that span. Khusnutdinov also previousl played in 49 games with HK Sochi in the KHL, tallying six goals and 14 assists. The Moscow, Russia native was originally selected by Minnesota in the second round (37th overall) of the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Callahan, 25, appeared in 45 games with the Providence Bruins in the AHL during the 2024-25 season, recording one goal and eight assists for nine points. He also represented Providence at the 2025 AHL all-star classic.

The Franklin, Massachusetts native also made 17 NHL appearances with the Bruins last year, scoring one goal in that span. Callahan was originally selected by Arizona in the fifth round (142nd overall) of the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.
