The Boston Bruins are rewarding Mark Kastelic for his gritty play this season.

The six-foot-four forward has signed a three-year extension with an average annual value of $1.567 million, the Bruins announced Friday.

Kasetlic, 25, has four goals and seven assists in 39 games this season. He ranks second in the NHL in hits and tied for first in penalty minutes.

The Bruins acquired Kastelic from the Ottawa Senators last summer along with goaltender Joonas Korpisalo and a 2024 first-round draft pick (forward Dean Letourneau) in exchange for goalie Linus Ullmark.

A Calgary Hitmen graduate, Kastelic has 18 goals, 18 assists and 255 penalty minutes in 255 career NHL games.
