Canucks add blue-liner Pierre-Olivier Joseph on one-year contract

Vancouver Canucks president of hockey operations Jim Rutherford joins The FAN Hockey Show to discuss the Thatcher Demko and Kevin Lankinen goalie tandem, saying he and the organization "feel very good" about the duo and their overall depth.

The Vancouver Canucks have padded their defence corps.

Blue-liner Pierre-Olivier Joseph signed a one-year, $775,000 contract with the club, it announced on Wednesday.

Joseph, 26, split last season between the St. Louis Blues and Pittsburgh Penguins, contributing three assists in 47 games.

The Laval, Que., native was originally selected 23rd overall by the Arizona Coyotes in the 2017 NHL Draft, but broke into the league with the Penguins in the 2020-21 season.

He has since appeared in 194 games, compiling eight goals and 32 assists.
