Canucks sign forward Aatu Raty to two-year, $1.55 million contract extension

The Vancouver Canucks signed forward Aatu Raty to two-year, $1.55 million contract extension on Monday.

Raty was set to become a restricted free agent Tuesday.

The 22-year-old from Oulu, Finland, had 11 points (seven goals and four assists) in 33 games with the Canucks this past season.

He also recorded 40 points (17 goals and 23 assists) in 43 games with the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks during the regular season plus three assists in six playoff games as the team captured the Calder Cup.

Raty was drafted in the second round, 52nd overall, by the New York Islanders in 2021.

He was traded to the Canucks in January 2023 as part of the deal that sent Bo Horvat to Long Island.

Raty has 14 points (nine goals and five assists) in 48 career games with the Islanders and Canucks.
