Canucks sign Jake DeBrusk to seven-year contract

Dan Murphy joins David Amber to break down Jake Debrusk's seven-year deal with the Canucks, discussing how it addresses an ongoing problem in finding a linemate for Elias Pettersson and why it will help alleviate Canucks fans concerns for now.

Jake DeBrusk is heading to Vancouver.

The forward joins the Vancouver Canucks on a seven-year, $38.5 million contract, the club announced.

Debrusk spent his entire career with the Boston Bruins before deciding to head out to Vancouver.

After breaking out in 2022-23 with 50 points in 62 games and a plus-26 rating, DeBrusk had some offensive regression last season, potting 40 points in 82 games. He found his stride in the post-season, though, adding 11 points in 13 playoff games.

DeBrusk signed a two-year, $8 million contract with Boston after the 2022 season.

The Edmonton native was selected by the Bruins in the first round, 15th overall, of the 2015 NHL Draft.
