Capitals acquire Anthony Beauvillier from Penguins for second-round pick

The Eastern Conference-leading Washington Capitals have added some depth up front.

Washington acquired veteran forward Anthony Beauvillier from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2025 second-round pick, the teams announced Friday.

Beauvillier, 27, has 13 goals and seven assists in 63 games for the Penguins this season.

The Sorel, Que., native is in his ninth NHL season and has 129 goals and 137 assists in 613 career NHL games with the Penguins, Nashville Predators, Chicago Blackhawks, Vancouver Canucks and New York Islanders.

Beauvillier was selected in the first round (28th overall) by the Islanders in the 2015 NHL Draft.
