Connor Brown is off to New Jersey.
The speedy winger signed a four-year, $12-million deal with the Devils on Tuesday, the team announced.
Brown played in 82 games last season, scoring 13 goals and adding 17 assists before adding 5 goals and four helpers during the Oilers’ Stanley Cup Final run.
The Maple Leafs selected Brown in the sixth round of the 2012 draft. Between Toronto, Edmonton, Ottawa and Washington, the 31-year-old recorded 107 goals and 151 assists in 601 games.
He also has 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 59 post-season contests and has reached the Cup Final each of the past two seasons.
The contract will pay Brown $3.5 million in each of the next two seasons and $2.5 million in the two seasons that follow. The salary cap hit will be $3 million per season throughout the life of the deal.
