The Calgary Flames placed Dryden Hunt on waivers Thursday and later recalled Justin Kirkland from the AHL.
Hunt, 30, has been called up by the Flames a few times this season but has played only two games and has yet to record a point. He has appeared in 16 games for their AHL affiliate, the Calgary Wranglers, recording five goals and 13 assists.
The winger was one of three players placed on waivers Thursday, along with Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Egor Zamula and Minnesota Wild centre Ben Jones.
Kirkland, meanwhile, has played nine games with the Flames this season, posting one assist, and has five goals and two assists in 14 games with the Wranglers.
The 29-year-old centre has not appeared in a game for the Flames since Nov. 1.
The Flames will take the ice next on Thursday night when they face off against the Seattle Kraken on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet+.
