The Columbus Blue Jackets are bringing back a promising, young AHL goaltender in Jet Greaves.

The two sides came to an agreement on a two-year contract in order to avoid arbitration, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Friday.

The deal is a two-way contract worth $800,000 at the NHL level in 2024-25, and a one-way deal worth $825,000 in 2025-26.

Greaves, 23, made eight starts with the Blue Jackets last season, going 3-6 while putting up a 3.49 GAA and .908 save percentage. He made his debut in 2022-23 and has 10 total appearances at the big-league level.

The Cambridge, Ont., native has really succeeded in the AHL, where, last season, he set the Cleveland Monsters’ single-season record for wins (30) and all-time record for wins (61), passing current Oilers goaltender Calvin Pickard.

He was named an All-Star in the AHL last season after putting up a solid 2.93 GAA and .910 save percentage in 46 games. Greaves also put up a 2.17 GAA and .926 save percentage in 13 playoff games.
