Jets defenceman Neal Pionk out week-to-week with lower-body injury

Elliotte Friedman joins the FAN Hockey Show to discuss the news that Winnipeg Jets defenceman Neal Pionk will be week-to-week with a lower body injury and how the Jets will fare without one of their top blueline contributors.

The Winnipeg Jets will have to make do without defenceman Neal Pionk for the next little while.

Jets head coach Scott Arniel told reporters Friday that Pionk is week-to-week due to a lower-body injury.

Pionk has 37 points (nine goals and 28 assists) in 66 games this season.

The 29-year-old ranks third on the team with a plus-21 and is second in average ice time, with 22:09 minutes per game.

The Western Conference-leading Jets (45-17-4) return to action Friday at home against the Dallas Stars.
