The Winnipeg Jets are keeping one of their depth defencemen in town.

The Jets have re-signed blue-liner Haydn Fleury to a two-year, $1.9 million contract, the team announced Saturday.

Fleury, 28, logged 39 games with the Jets in his first season with the team last year, picking up seven assists on the way. He played an average of 15:56 in time on ice last season.

He also suited up for eight playoff games with the Jets, nabbing two assists and logging 15:16 of average time on ice.

Fleury missed a chunk of the season after sustaining a lower-body injury in December.

The Carlyle, Sask., native joined the Jets as a free agent on a one-year deal ahead of the 2024-25 season after spending the first seven years of his career splitting time between the Carolina Hurricanes, Anaheim Ducks, Seattle Kraken and Tampa Bay Lightning.

Originally selected seventh overall in the 2014 NHL Draft by the Hurricanes, Fleury has tallied 10 goals and 34 assists in 307 games at the NHL level.
