Kings sign head coach Todd McLellan to one-year extension

Vegas has all the tools to repeat as Cup champions, but the Oilers have something to say about that. Meanwhile down highway 2 in Calgary, the Flames are hoping for a rebound season from… everyone. The Pacific is packed with burning questions.

The Los Angeles Kings gave head coach Todd McLellan a one-year extension earlier this year, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reports.

The contract will add an extra year to McLellan’s previous contract, keeping him with the Kings through the 2024-25 season.

McLellan, 56, is entering his fifth season with the Kings and has a 141-115-34 record in 290 games. The Kings have reached the playoffs in each of the last two seasons, losing to the Edmonton Oilers in the first round both times.

McLellan has previously served as the head coach of the Edmonton Oilers and San Jose Sharks.
