‘Lifetime contract’: Sports world reacts to Bichette’s homer off Ohtani

Toronto Blue Jays infielder Bo Bichette rips a three-run home run off Los Angeles Dodgers two-way star Shohei Ohtani to break a 0-0 tie in the third inning of Game 7 in the World Series.

Behind in the count to Vladimir Guerrero Jr. with a runner in scoring position, the Los Angeles Dodgers picked their poison. And Bo Bichette made them pay.

Bichette annihilated a first-pitch slider from Shohei Ohtani 442 feet off the facing of the second deck in centre field to give the Blue Jays a 3-0 lead in Game 7 of the World Series on Saturday night.

After Ohtani fell behind Guerrero 1-0 on a non-competitive pitch, the Dodgers opted to walk the slugging first baseman, and Bichette immediately made them regret their decision.

It was the first three-run home run in Game 7 of a World Series since Julian Javier hit one for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1967.

Blue Jays fans quickly took to social media to react to the momentous home run.
