Orlando Magic forward Paolo Banchero has been ruled out for Monday’s game against the Charlotte Hornets with a left ankle sprain, the team announced in its injury report.

This is the third straight game the rookie will be sitting out.

Banchero suffered the injury on Nov. 7 in a loss to the Houston Rockets. He appeared to land awkwardly after driving to the rim late in the fourth quarter.

The No. 1 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft, Banchero has been excelling during his early action in the league, averaging 23.5 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists in 11 starts this season.

The Magic currently hold a record of 4-9, good for 13th place in the Eastern Conference.
