The Office of the Commissioner of Baseball announced on Tuesday that both Baltimore Orioles pitcher Matt Harvey and Milwaukee Brewers pitcher J.C. Mejia have been suspended for violation of the league’s Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program.
Harvey has received a 60-game suspension without pay, retroactive to April 29, 2022, for participating in the distribution of a prohibited Drug of Abuse in violation of the policy.
Mejía has received an 80-game suspension without pay after testing positive for Stanozolol, a performance-enhancing substance, in violation of the policy, with his suspension effective immediately.
Under the MLB’s drug policy, all players are prohibited from using, possessing, selling, distributing, facilitating the sale of or facilitating the distribution of any Drug of Abuse, human growth hormone or steroid.
