Nate Bastian returns to Devils on two-year contract

Forward Nathan Bastian is returning to the New Jersey Devils after signing a new two-year, $2.7-million contract with the club on Saturday.

The 25-year-old native of Kitchener, Ont. had six goals and nine assists in 43 games with the Devils last season.

Picked in the second round (41st overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft by the Devils, Bastian has 24 goals and 22 assists for 46 points in 163 career games with New Jersey and the Seattle Kraken.

The Kraken picked Bastian in the Expansion Draft before placing him on waivers, where he was reclaimed by the Devils.
