Anthony Edwards‘ loud personality has always been part of his appeal, but the young guard paid for it on Monday.

The Minnesota Timberwolves superstar was fined $25,000 for using profane language during a media interview following the team’s 107-90 win over the Golden State Warriors on Dec. 6, the league announced.

After the game, Edwards swore multiple times while complimenting his teammates’ play in the win.

“Naz [Reid] and Julius [Randle] is [expletive] playing defence,” Edwards said to Timberwolves reporter Dane Moore while being interviewed in the team’s locker room. “You know, I’ve never seen [Julius] play defence before. So that’s [expletive] incredible … he be guarding his [expletive] off.”

This is the seventh time Edwards has been fined this season, earning five $2,000 fines for technical fouls and a fine for an obscene gesture on the court worth $35,000. He had $90,000 in fines last season for off-the-court behaviour and criticism of officials.

Despite his financials taking a hit, Edwards has had a stellar season for the Timberwolves, averaging a career-high 26.4 points with 5.4 rebounds and 4.0 assists.
