After beating the New York Rangers handily on Saturday night, the Edmonton Oilers are loaning a few of their players to their AHL affiliate.

The team announced that they’re sending forward Drake Caggiula and defenceman Josh Brown to the Bakersfield Condors.

Brown was recalled after Darnell Nurse was injured by a hit to the head from Toronto Maple Leafs forward Ryan Reaves. The 30-year-old defenceman played in three games with the Oilers, averaging 12:13 of ice time per game and collecting seven penalty minutes — five of which came after a fight against Ottawa Senators forward Zack MacEwen on Tuesday.

Caggiula, 30, has appeared in three games this season for the Oilers, registering one point and five penalty minutes.

The Oilers don’t play again until Friday, when they travel to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Hockey Club.
