The Edmonton Oilers have signed forward Lane Pederson to a two-year contract with an AAV of $775,000, the team announced Saturday.

Pederson, 25, spent the 2022-23 season split between the NHL and AHL. In the 27 NHL games he played for the Vancouver Canucks and Columbus Blue Jackets combined, Pederson recorded six points (three goals and three assists).

The Canucks had acquired Pederson in Oct. 2022 from the Carolina Hurricanes, in the trade that also saw them receive defenceman Ethan Bear. Pederson was placed on waivers by the Canucks in Jan. 2023, which resulted in him being claimed by the Blue Jackets.

The Saskatoon, Sask., native has played 71 career NHL games, recording 11 points (four goals and seven assists) in total.
