Panthers’ Maurice confirms Radko Gudas will play in Game 3 vs. Golden Knights

Florida Panthers defenceman Radko Gudas is officially ready for Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, according to head coach Paul Maurice.

Maurice told reporters Thursday morning that Gudas will play as the Panthers looked to claw their way out of a 2-0 series hole.

Gudas left Game 2 early after a massive collision with Vegas Golden Knights forward Ivan Barbashev that saw Gudas slammed to the ice.

He did not practice with the team Wednesday.

The Czech enforcer has been a physical presence of the Panthers so far in the playoffs, recording 30 blocks and a league-leading 81 hits through 18 games.

He had already been dealing with an injury prior to Game 2 and coach Paul Maurice dressed seven defencemen in preparation for Gudas to potentially not be able to handle a full workload. He played 11:30 in Game 1.
