The Pittsburgh Penguins appear to be big fans of the 2025 NHL Draft class.
After already making two picks in the first round on Friday, general manager Kyle Dubas opted to trade back in for a third selection, acquiring No. 24 from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for Nos. 31 and 59.
All appeared to be business as usual when the Penguins took Benjamin Kindle at No. 11, but with the 12th selection also belonging to Pittsburgh, Dubas quickly got to work. The Penguins traded that pick to the Philadelphia Flyers, who took Jack Nesbitt, with Pittsburgh getting Nos. 22 and 31 in return.
They used the 22nd pick on another forward, Bill Zonnon.
And lo and behold, the Penguins added a third forward in the first round with No. 24, taking Will Horcoff out of the University of Michigan.
