Penguins sign defenceman Caleb Jones to two-year deal

Caleb Jones has landed with the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Penguins announced Tuesday that they have signed Jones to a two-year deal, which carries an average annual value of $900,000.

Jones, 28, appeared in six NHL games with the Los Angeles Kings in 2024-25, spending the majority of his season with the AHL’s Ontario Reign. With the Reign, the six-foot-one, blueliner totalled two goals and 19 assists in 44 games.

Originally a fourth-round pick of the Oilers in 2015, Jones has played in seven NHL seasons with Edmonton, Chicago, Colorado and Los Angeles. Over 73 games with the Blackhawks in 2022-23, he logged a career high 19:13 of ice time per night while chipping in four goals and 12 assists.

In 248 career games, Jones has 14 goals and 55 points.
