Red Wings sign Axel Sandin-Pellikka to entry-level deal

The Detroit Red Wings have signed defenceman Axel Sandin-Pellikka to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The 19-year-old had 10 goals and 18 points in 39 games with Skellefteå AIK in the Swedish Hockey League. He was awarded the Börje Salming Trophy as the best Swedish-born defenseman in the SHL.

Sandin-Pellikka also won a silver medal with Sweden at the 2024 World Junior Championship and was named the tournament’s best defenceman after recording six points in seven games. 

The Red Wings selected Sandin-Pellikka 17th overall in the 2023 NHL Draft.
