Reese Johnson signs one-year, two-way deal with Minnesota Wild

The Minnesota Wild have agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract ($775,000/$500,000) with winger Reese Johnson, the team announced on Monday.

Johnson, 25, appeared in 42 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, recording five points (two goals, three assists) and 40 penalty minutes.

The Regina, Sask. native has made 141 NHL appearances through four seasons, all with Chicago, and has recorded 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) and 103 PIM. During the 2022-23 season, Johnson led the Blackhawks with a career-high 178 hits.

Johnson originally signed with Chicago in 2022 as a free agent.

The six-foot-one winger has also played in 83 AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs, collecting 23 points (nine goals, 14 assists).
