Atlanta Falcons tight end Kyle Pitts, who was placed on the reserve/injured list Monday, has reportedly sustained a torn MCL that will require surgery, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network.

Pitts will seek a second opinion before proceeding, Rapoport added.

The 22-year-old Pitts caught three passes for 43 yards before leaving Sunday’s game against the Bears. Atlanta edged Chicago to win 27-24.

Pitts has 28 receptions for 356 yards and two touchdowns during his sophomore season with the club.

The Falcons (5-6) are second in the NFC South Division and visit the Washington Commanders (6-5) during Week 12 this upcoming Sunday.
