Veteran forward Joel Armia is on the move.

He will be joining the Los Angeles Kings on a two-year deal that carries an average annual value of $2.5 million, the team announced Tuesday.

The 32-year-old from Pori, Finland, spent the past seven seasons with the Montreal Canadiens. He recorded 29 points (11 goals, 18 assists) in 81 games during the regular season and added two assists in five playoff games over the 2024-25 campaign.

Armia also appeared in two games with Finland in the 4 Nations Face-Off tournament.

He had eight points (five goals, three assists) in 21 post-season games with the Canadiens during the team’s run to the Stanley Cup Final in 2021.

Armia was placed on waivers before the start of the 2023-24 season and was sent down to the AHL’s Laval Rocket. He bounced back and posted a career-high 17 goals upon his return to the Canadiens and was named the team’s nominee for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy that year.

Armia was drafted in the first round, 16th overall, by the Buffalo Sabres in 2011, but he played just one game with the club before he was traded to the Winnipeg Jets.

He has 207 points (103 goals, 104 assists) in 586 career games over 11 seasons with the Sabres, Jets and Canadiens.
