Robertson back in Maple Leafs lineup, Knies to play after missing practice

Nick Kypreos joins The JD Bunkis Podcast to discuss the Toronto Maple Leafs' first matchup against former Leaf and current Golden Knight Mitch Marner, saying the game and the atmosphere will be telling of the Maple Leafs' current standing.

Nick Robertson looks to have avoided a serious injury after blocking a shot with the inside of his knee.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward said he will be back in the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Robertson left Monday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche in the first period and did not play in Tuesday’s game against the Utah Mammoth.

The forward told reporters that the shot caught him on the inside of the knee, which hit a nerve and made it seem like he broke his leg. Robertson has 10 goals and 22 points for the Maple Leafs this season.

Matthew Knies was notably absent from the Leafs’ morning skate but will play, according to head coach Craig Berube.

Knies has 12 goals and 38 points in 43 games this season.

Joseph Woll will be back in the starter’s net after Dennis Hildeby got in the net for the second half of the back-to-back against Utah.

The Leafs had their 10-game point streak end with the loss to the Mammoth and sit a point out of a wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference playoff race.
