The bad news seemingly never ends for the Buffalo Sabres.

Buffalo coach Lindy Ruff told reporters Tuesday that defenceman Owen Power‘s lower-body injury likely is serious.

It is unknown whether Power will need surgery and there is no timetable for his return.

Power, a 22-year-old native of Mississauga, Ont., was injured in Saturday’s game against the Florida Panthers.

The 2021 first-overall pick has seven goals and 33 assists in 79 games this season.

The Sabres are set to miss the playoffs for a league-high 14th season in a row.

Buffalo hosts the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday.
