Rathbone, who signed a one-year deal with Buffalo last summer, spent last season with the AHL’s Rochester Americans.

He had 23 points (six goals and 17 assists) in 63 games during the regular season and three assists in eight playoff games.

Rathbone was drafted in the fourth round, 95th overall, by the Vancouver Canucks in 2017.

He has five points (two goals and three assists) in 28 career NHL games, all with the Canucks.
