San Jose Sharks sign Andrew Poturalski to two-year, two-way deal

The San Jose Sharks signed forward Andrew Poturalski to a two-year, two-way contract, its AHL affiliate, the San Jose Barracuda, announced Wednesday.

The deal will pay Poturalski $800,000 at the NHL level and $475,000 in the minors in 2024-25, with $500,000 the following season.

Sharks assistant general manager Joe Will said the 30-year-old’s leadership and depth will be important in both the NHL and AHL.

“First and foremost, Andrew brings centre depth to the Sharks organization and the ability to play at both the NHL and AHL levels,” said Will.  “In the AHL, he brings a winning pedigree and is a top centre. Andrew’s leadership is evident in both his performance and character, and we’re excited to add him to our group.” 

Last season, the former Kraken played 60 games with the Coachella Valley Firebirds in the AHL. He tallied 51 points (15 goals, 36 assists) with a plus-8 to help the Firebirds reach the finals for the second consecutive year.
