Senators’ Chabot to return from injury vs. Blackhawks

Ottawa Senators coach Travis Green discusses the return of Thomas Chabot to the lineup, saying that he expects some rust from the defenceman, but that he'll be giving plenty to the team.

The Ottawa Senators are getting a notable roster reinforcement on Saturday.

Defenceman Thomas Chabot will return from his upper-body injury to play against the Chicago Blackhawks.

He was removed from the club’s injured reserve list on Friday as the Senators sent defenceman Dennis Gilbert to their AHL affiliate in Belleville.

Chabot, 28, has not played since Nov. 22 against the San Jose Sharks, which marked his first game back after missing the previous three games with an injury.

He started practising again with the team on Wednesday.

In 18 games this season, the Sainte-Marie, Que., native has two goals, 10 points and is plus-10.
