The San Jose Sharks signed forward Philipp Kurashev to a one-year, $1.2 million contract Tuesday.

Kurashev spent the past five seasons with the Chicago Blackhawks, but he did not receive a qualifying offer and became an unrestricted free agent.

The 25-year-old from Munsingen, Switzerland, recorded 14 points (seven goals and seven assists) in 51 games with the Blackhawks last season.

Kurashev was drafted in the fourth round, 120th overall, by Chicago in 2018.

He had 130 points (48 goals and 82 assists) in 317 games with the Blackhawks.
