‘Snow Day!’: Football fans brave the winter weather for Bills-Steelers game

A potentially dangerous snowstorm that hit the Buffalo region on Saturday led the NFL to push back the Bills wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers from Sunday to Monday. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and the NFL cited public safety concerns for the postponement, with up to 2 feet of snow projected to fall on the region over a 24- plus hour period. (Jeffrey T. The Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers wild-card game was delayed from Sunday to Monday due to a winter storm in the area.

And while the delay certainly helped in terms of the temperature and wind, the snow was a different story.

The storm was projected to dump between one and three feet of snow, with the heaviest accumulation around Orchard Park — the home of the Bills.

The Bills even put out a call for locals to come help shovel the stadium overnight, and despite their best efforts, a large portion of the stadium’s seats remained covered at game time.

But in typical Bills Mafia fashion, that didn’t seem to dampen the spirits of many fans in attendance. Even if it meant trudging through three feet of snow to find your seat.

Here are some of the best social media posts from an unbelievable scene at Highmark Stadium.
