Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is available to play on Wednesday in a Western Conference showdown against fellow Canadian Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet+.

Gilgeous-Alexander, a Hamilton, Ont., native, earlier was listed as questionable on the injury report because of an illness.

The game will be missing some star power, however, as Denver’s Nikola Jokic will miss just his second game of the season because of a back injury.

Gilgeous-Alexander is third in NBA scoring this season, averaging 31.3 points per game. The reigning Canadian athlete of the year scored 40 points to lead OKC to a 119-93 win over Denver in the teams’ last meeting on Dec. 29.

Gilgeous-Alexander also hit the winning jumper with a second left in a 118-117 Thunder win over the Nuggets on Dec. 16.

Murray, from Kitchener, Ont., is averaging 21.4 points and 6.5 assists this season for the reigning NBA champs.

Both players could be key players for Canada at the Olympics in Paris this summer after Gilgeous-Alexander led the team to a bronze medal at the World Cup last year, resulting in the country’s first Summer Games berth since 2000.

The Nuggets (33-15) are second in the Western Conference, a half-game behind the Minnesota Timberwolves and a half-game ahead of the Thunder.
